在位于澳大利亚的新州Ballina，人们发现了一只浑身上下缠满藤壶的濒危玳瑁龟，目前已被送往海鸟救援（Australian Seabird Rescue）组织的医院里接受救治，情况不容乐观。
据《每日电讯报》报道，这只濒临绝种的玳瑁龟是星期六在Ballina的North Wall附近被发现的，它被立即送往了海鸟救援（Australian Seabird Rescue）组织的医院，这只雌性玳瑁龟连鼻孔都几乎被藤壶堵住了。
ASR的工作人员刷洗掉了玳瑁龟身上的海藻和泥沙，他们以为这只龟没救了，可当晚它却活了下来。工作人员说：“它一定是生病了，移动非常缓慢，看起来像被感染了一样。”

救护中心的工作人员在Facebook上发文称：“玳瑁龟生病时，就会移动得特别缓慢，有时它们身体里会产生气体，使它们只能无力地漂浮在水里。它们没办法潜到水里觅食，藤壶和海藻也更容易附着在它们的身上。”
