About
The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is a 6 km clifftop trail along Sydney’s eastern beaches. It starts at Bondi, threads past Tamarama and Bronte, and finishes at Coogee, with sandstone ledges, ocean pools, and constant Pacific views.
The path is one of the most reviewed outdoor experiences in Sydney — often ranking ahead of indoor attractions on traveller sites. Between October and November, Sculpture by the Sea turns the Bondi-to-Tamarama section into a free outdoor sculpture exhibition.
Allow two to three hours at an easy pace, longer if you swim at Bronte or Coogee. The walk is mostly paved and well signed, with cafes at each beach. It is free, and buses run back to Bondi or the city from Coogee.
Interesting facts:
- The full Bondi–Coogee section is about 6 kilometres and typically takes 2–3 hours.
- Bondi Icebergs’ ocean pool sits at the southern end of Bondi, right on the walking route.
- Sculpture by the Sea is billed as the world’s largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition.
- You can shorten the walk by finishing at Bronte if you only want the most dramatic cliffs.
If you already know Bondi Beach, this walk is the reason to keep going south — the city’s best free coastal scenery in a single morning.
